The climate is changing and some of the crops we are used to growing year-on-year are suffering. Recent aberrant weather has caused losses into the billions of pounds, and simply trying to keep growing the same crops puts the UK at a threat. One way to combat this is to incorporate novel crops into agriculture, and a range of projects already exist looking at which crops would grow best and why. In this activity you will join our research group from the School of Biological Sciences and explore these crops, learning more about what we already know, and importantly what we don't know. You can play games, vote for new crops, and take home seeds or plants to try in your own garden (or simply on a windowsill).
