Where will you end up on the leader board? Will your structure be a Tay Bridge failure or a Tower Bridge triumph?
You only have paper and tape as building materials, and the load for your bridge is Mars bars!
Use your imagination to dream up an efficient structure, taking inspiration from the way civil engineers shape and combine structural elements in real bridges and buildings!
Civil engineers use a range of materials and shapes (of structure) to create the buildings and infrastructure around us. New materials and smart structural concepts are being engineered to reduce our energy and material use and help old infrastructure last for longer. This helps to create a sustainable build environment and mitigating climate change.
