Biofilms: Microbial communities in action
Microscopic life is all around us. Whether in the natural environment or within our own bodies, these tiny organisms group together to form microbial communities, that we call biofilms.
Join the Microbiology team at the University of Southampton and the National Biofilm Innovation Centre to find out why microscopic life do this - and why it's so important - and enjoy some fun activities whilst you learn.
You'll have a chance to get hands on with our own laboratory microscopes to view microbes and biofilms in much larger way. Then you can help us build our own biofilm with our own LegoŽ microbe building kits. These have varying levels of challenge so there's a chance for everyone to join the fun and build their own microscopic creature!
