IMAGE COPYRIGHT Microbes, Mood and Murals
Mounting evidence reveals a strong connection between the gut microbiome and brain function. Join a team of researchers from the Gut-Immune-Brain Axis Network and get involved in this hands-on activity to co-create a temporary street art installation. Open to all ages and backgrounds, this participatory experience will center around a giant canvas that will be transformed into a 'mural' representing the gut-immune-brain axis. You will be encouraged to express your own interpretation(s) of 'gut feelings', using a variety of art materials, including paints and paper 'bodies' to colour in. To spark creativity and conversation, you will be inspired by a series of posters and videos that illustrate how modifiable lifestyle factors, like diet, sleep, and stress, shape gut and brain health across the lifespan.
