Grow your own organoids
Age suitable for:
- All ages
Do you want to learn how we grow organoids, or mini organs, in the lab, and what they are used for? Come and learn how to make organoids by 'growing your own'.
You'll have the chance to gather stem cells, culture them, and then view them under the microscope to identify which type of organoid you have grown. Once you know how to grow organoids, learn about how they are used.
You can also give cell replacement therapy a try, by swapping out damaged islets in the pancreas for some healthy, lab-grown ones to tackle diabetes.
The organoid growing activity is suitable for children of all ages, and the cell replacement therapy task is more suited to younger children. We look forward to seeing there!
