Join the team at the Composting Heap - an expanded interdisciplinary reading group curated by artist-researchers Dr Paul Hurley and Dr Kathryn Ashill. This edition - the Sharing Bucket - is created as part of the UKRI-funded 'TRI-SoME Chicken' project, led by colleagues in Geography and Environmental Science at the University of Southampton, to research UK food system resilience.
You are invited to listen and take part in a conversation about chicken(s) as animals and as food in popular.
Expect a range of cultural texts - films, music videos, essays, and podcasts - that will be combined, digested, and transformed into fertile matter.
The Composting Heap was conceived as part of Experimentica festival, Cardiff, in 2024. It aims to be an informal, accessible and playful place to explore ideas and is designed for people over 18. If there's anything we can do to make the event more accessible to you, please let us know.
LOCATION: Active Space, John Hansard Gallery, 142 - 144 Above Bar St (SO14 7DU)
Check-in: from 18:00
PLEASE NOTE: a few additional tickets will be available on the day at the ticket desk, on a first-come-first-served basis.
