The mathematics of soap bubbles
Join members of the Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics group to investigate questions such as: Why are soap bubbles round? In a web of bubbles, why do soap films always meet in groups of 3? In this activity one will learn the mathematics and physics by which nature arranges soap bubbles hands-on. One can even play with a 'soap bubble computer', which is able to solve a real-world problem: how to build a railway network between different stations in the most efficient way?
