Aurora Zoo
How does nature create such a beautiful show? Come and do real aurora science, by looking at pictures of the northern lights nobody has ever seen before and telling us what you see. All of the pictures come from Southampton's scientific cameras in the Arctic, and by classifying the aurora in the pictures you will help to research what is happening in space and the upper atmosphere to make the wide variety of shapes and movements we see in the aurora. Talk to the scientists who go to the Arctic to set up and look after the scientific cameras, and learn why the northern lights have sometimes appeared over Southampton recently.
