
Send sound to nowhere: acoustic black holes
As surprising as it may sound, black holes exist not only in space. There is a way to stop sound waves, which resembles the phenomenon known in astrophysics. In this demo, you will compare the response of a few simple structures with and without the acoustic black hole treatment. You will learn how that is possible and why it is useful in practice.
