Join the Flexible Nanoelectronics team at the School of Electronics and Computer Science to find out how we make future electronics smart & flexible, using sustainable, not-toxic materials. We use nanotechnology and draw inspiration from nature to make, for example, electronic memories that mimic the efficiency of the human brain. We will explain how the human memory works and then have a "Memory Machine" model to show you how to create tiny nanogaps between metals, and form an electronic memory device that can store information. You will write and erase information in this memory device yourself! We will also show you a "Neuromorphic Tank" demo where you will use your painting skills to understand how this information can be processed. You will get to keep your own unique painting! Finally, you will have the chance to play a Go-Fish card game and understand the concepts of nano electronic devices, materials and neuromorphic computing!
