This outdoor workshop introduces you to Baduanjin, an ancient Chinese Qigong exercise that promotes health and balance through gentle, mindful movement. Originating over 1,000 years ago and based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, Baduanjin consists of eight simple techniques, each designed to benefit a specific part of your body and mind. You will be guided by tutors from the Confucius Institute step-by-step through the full Baduanjin sequence and learn how to:
Release tension in your back, neck, wrists, and waist.
Boost your energy and improve your posture.
Practise effectively in small spaces, even at your desk.
Use just 15 minutes a day to enhance your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The workshop offers a welcoming, inclusive environment where people of all ages and fitness levels can take part. No prior experience is needed, just comfortable clothing and a willingness to try something new.
Whether you want to relieve stress, improve flexibility, or simply enjoy a moment of calm, you will leave feeling refreshed and more in tune with your body.
Join the team from Confucius Institute at the University of Southampton to discover how a centuries-old practice can fit seamlessly into your modern life!
